"Let's have a WILD PARTY!"
Although wait, I did that didn't I?
Or rather I went to one. Though it wasn't very wild- especially not at the beginning, when it was kind of like that episode of The Weekenders where someone has a boy/girl party and gravity seems to pull the sexes insatiably towards different walls. It was rather amusing as I was sort of sitting away from it all... I'm there thinking, "Oooookay, should I be sitting with the guys or the girls for this one...?" Probably would have been more comfortable with the guys, to tell you the truth, but at parties gender differentiation always seems to kick in.
But once we were in the pool we seemed to be alright. Weird how stripping half-naked clears the air. ^_^
I, of course, did not deign to come into the pool.
Until I saw that it looked fun and promptly jumped in fully clothed. Waterlogged jeans are heavy.
So after that Dinner, at which I perhaps talked more about cannibalism than one would ordinarily desire, and then pie! (Which was absolutely gorgeous, by the way. Hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, and brownie... drool.) And we all listened to Weird Al and it was good.
And then the world was treated to the sight of a roomful of adolescents watching Chicken Run. "Chicken porn! Not apple!"
And around came eight o'clock. Everyone went home but me, due to my Rather Forgetful Da neglecting to remember to pick me up until around 8:30. It was my gain, 'cause I got to talk to Cait and talking's fun. And she liked her present. And her card. Bunny Skids! ^_^
And I gave her a hug, 'cause hugging's fun too. I should do more of it. Only Josh stole a hug from me. He said he was gonna shake my hand, but noooo, he has to hug me. Damn him!

In other news, I've found an awesome new band- with the help of Clicks and Buzzes, of course. It's called Brand New. I think it's a sort of pop/punk/emo band; I've only heard two of their songs, The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows and Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis, but they both kick ass. Download them. Listen to them. And then go buy Deja Entendu.
I plan to. Along with... well, I have a list somewhere...
Ah. Here we are.

Artists/Bands Whose Albums I Need To Buy (orhaveboughtformehinthint) In The Very Near Future

AFI (except for Sing The Sorrows as I have that one)\
Apocalyptica (maybe?)
Brand New
Bright Eyes (these guys were actually on MM the other day!)
Courtney Love (very iffy on this)
The Cure
Garbage
Jack Off Jill
The Smiths
Tori Amos (other than Scarlet's Walk, Strange Little Girls, and Under The Pink)
Weezer
Yeah Yeah Yeahs (just for the hell of it)

I've been noticing lately how rare it is for me to listen to bands with women in them. I mean, I love Tori and I like Garbage, the White Stripes, No Doubt... and after that I just sort of draw a blank. The thing is I listen to rock more than anything else, and there're so few women in rock. (Hence my sudden wish to listen to Courtney Love.) It makes me really wish I had musical talent- given the chance I think I could be a rock star. Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun, to tell you the truth. I could be this ambiguous glittery figure on a stage, saying what I want to say and doing what I want to do and filling the world with music.
Then again there's the whole stage-fright thing. Doubt I could get past that.

What must I do today? Clean my room, watch Red Dragon (helloooo, Clarisse...) and write more to Under The Stairs. I think I may be getting close to the end. Let's hope, anyway.
Strict writing- which is what I call it when I keep to a certain story through willpower, instead of loose writing, which is everything else that I scribble- is something of a drug in its own right, and it comes with its own complex love/hate relationship.
Someone said once that the only thing worse than writing is not writing. They were right.
