What tickles my fancy today: boy bands!
Prozzak is not technically a boy band. Prozzak is not technically a band. Whatever, this is still the greatest song ever written.
I just realized that with this new haircut I kind of look like Simon. Huh.
I used to watch the 2Gether show when I was nine or ten. It took me a while to figure out that they weren't a real band. I unironically liked them! I unironically like most things!
I also watched that O-Town show. Jacob was my favourite because he was ~rebellious. (You could tell 'cause he had dreadlocks.) Every time I think about O-Town now- and I think about O-Town more often than most people, I think, including its former members- I think about that episode of Clone High where Cleopatra goes to party on the beaches of sunny Canada with Ashley Angel (from O-Town! he's like the Beatles and Jesus rolled into one!). I saw this video when it premiered, and even though I was pretty much a big stupid baby who didn't understand innuendo I was like MY GOODNESS THIS SONG IS DIRTY. And then I wrote a parody of it for a Digimon fansite.
... my life was sad.
This song is even dirtier than the O-Town one, I think. GONNA MAKE YOU COME TONIGHT... OVERTOMYHOUSE!
This video is also by b4-4! It features what is I think the first lesbian kiss I ever saw. iirc, my response as a doe-eyed pretween to this unexpected homosexuality was "Haha, why is that lady kissing that other lady? Doesn't she know ladies are supposed to kiss dudes? This is funny to me! So funny that I will watch it on repeat for weeks!" One of many such episodes in my childhood that only became significant later.
All I remember about this song is that it came on the radio on the bus ride home on the last day of seventh grade. It was a nice moment.
When I first saw this video I thought it was the weirdest, creepiest thing ever committed to film. It wasn't, but it was probably the weirdest, creepiest thing ever to air on the Hit List. That dude's apartment is so fucking gross it makes me vom in my mouth a little. (So does his tribal tat.) Apparently one of the Moffatts is gay now. I don't know which one it is because they all kind of look like they'd be the gay one, but good for you, Gay Moffatt! You go, Gay Moffatt!
Fucking boy bands, man.
