I am pro-choice.

More than that. I am 100% pro-choice. I say "100%" because I've noticed a strange sort of trend in the way some pro-choice people identify themselves. You know the type- "I'm pro-choice, but I don't think abortion should be used as birth control." "I'm pro-choice, but only in cases of rape or incest." "I'm pro-choice, but EW it's so gross and wrong and the poor widdle fetus and GOD women who do that are such evil heartless bitches and should be infected with gonorrhea and die- but um, I'm still pro-choice!"

Fuck that. Me being pro-choice means that I am pro EVERYONE'S reproductive decisions. This means, in case you missed it, that I am pro-abortion.

Yes, I am.

I want abortion safe, I want abortion legal, I want abortion to be as inexpensive as possible. Most importantly, I want abortion without the social stigma and bullshit that comes along with it. Because frankly I'm sick of women being treated like pariahs for having a medical procedure.

I am pro-choice. I am pro-abortion for whoever needs it or wants it. This means that if a fourteen-year-old gets pregnant and is physically unable to give birth safely and too financially unstable to raise a child, she should be able to abort as easily as possible if that is her choice. No buts. No unlesses. No fine print. It also means that if a thirty-year-old rich woman in good health gets pregnant and is unwilling to dedicate twenty years of time, work, and money to a child, she should be able to abort as easily as possible if that is her choice. Neither case deserves judgment, or accusations of immorality, or grief from anyone else.

I am pro-choice. I am pro-abortion. I am also pro-childbirth. If a fourteen-year-old gets pregnant and wants to bring it to term, she should be able to do so as easily as possible, without people telling her she she is too young or too irresponsible or a slut. If a thirty-year-old rich woman gets pregnant and wants to bring it to term she should be able to do so as easily as possible, without people telling her she's too old or too single or a bad candidate for motherhood.

I am pro-choice. I am pro-abortion. I am pro-adoption. I am pro-childbirth. I am pro-sex and pro-contraceptives, I am pro-marriage and pro-partnership, I am pro-monogamy and pro-polygamy, I am pro-celibacy and pro-promiscuity, I am pro-fifty-year-relationships and pro-one-night-stands.

I am pro-choice. I am pro-CHOOSING.

That's all.

I hear that! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

I'll make a logical reply later, when I'm not tired, but I agree for the most part!

Nine out of ten people also agree that there should only be one way to spell Shaun!

I like the spelling "Shaun" so I agree! Mind you, it would make "Shaun Rainer" even more obvious in my story!

Hmmm...I'm gonna post a journal entry of my own and then I shall be crazy and return and make a huge long post about the moral implications of allowing, or disallowing, abortion and my current stance on it! Woo crazy crazy!
