Know what is awesome about working in a bookstore? Besides, you know, everything?

The fact that when things are slow and there's nothing to do, instead of making awkward small talk with your coworkers about what you're going to do after your shift* you make awesome small talk with your coworkers about how lame Edward Cullen is. &myjob;

I'm a little stressed out right now, because I have an essay to write and an exam to study for and I'm behind on NaNo again, argh, so here's a video of a tiiiiiiny French girl tells a story about Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and a hippopotamus who is allergic to magic. I dare you not to squee.

Once upon a time... from Capucha on Vimeo.

*_*

* Although we did talk about that. My response: "Oh, I'm in for a crazy night. First I'm gonna go home. Then I'm gonna make a cup of tea. Then- and this is pretty intense, don't get too excited- I'm gonna write a paper."

That kid is fabulous. She reminds me a lot of a little girl I looked after in daycare a few years ago, who once sat down next to me and told me a story about a wizard called The Purpley Wizard who had a magic umbrella and liked to go dancing in the rain. <3 imaginative kiddies :D

Um, hi, this is probably kind of random, but I just friended you, so I thought I should probably tell you?

And also, your night appears to be just as scintillating as mine. I don't know whether to congratulate you or be sympathetic.

haha yeah that sounds familiar. Working at a cinema has similar perks. Instead of talking about your weekend, we talk about how someone needs to stand up to Quentin Tarantino and edit his scripts a little more for him, or how a remake of some obscure Australian film could be made and brought into modern cinema for all to behold. Or you can just wander into a cinema and watch whatever is on if you're in the right assignment for the night.

that and zombies, there is much much talk of george romeros work and zombie attacks.

Do you discuss how to fortify the theatre against the inevitable zombie apocalypse? Because it's seriously only a matter of time before the dead rise again.

hahah no, but i will have to bring it up.
We have however (at about 3:30am when a friend has been doing maintenance overnight) thought seriously about a horror movie shot in our building. So many passages and random rooms, nooks and crannies and the like. Its not even a cool indie cinema with old school architecture or anything.

A horror movie in a theatre would be amazing. It could be like Phantom of the Opera, but with popcorn and polyester uniforms.

I get that- I used to love L.J. Smith for the exact same reason. Especially The Forbidden Game trilogy. (And hell, I still feel that way about The Princess Diaries.)
